Fresh Start Bariatrics at Riverside Methodist Hospital has been designated a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). The designation recognized Riverside Methodist Hospital as a top performing center for Bariatric Surgery – the best of the best.
We earned the designation by complying with the highest standards of bariatric patient care in the industry and going through a series of voluntary site inspections. The visits included a thorough evaluation of our medical and surgical processes along with our outcomes data.
Since beginning our program at Riverside Methodist Hospital:
- Performed over 500 successful Ohio bariatric surgery operations
- An average of 85% of excess weight is lost after a gastric bypass operation
- 99% of operations are performed laparoscopically
- 99th percentile in patient satisfaction as measured by Press Ganey
