Fresh Start Bariatrics offers free seminars to help potential patients learn about our services and bariatric surgery. Hosted by our highly-qualified bariatric surgeon, Stephan Myers, MD, FACS, each seminar is incredibly informative and highly recommended for anyone considering bariatric surgery in Ohio.
Our free seminars are offered in two locations at a variety of dates and times for your convenience. We also offer the course online, where you can learn about our Fresh Start Bariatrics program from the comfort of your home, at your personal computer.
You'll need to register with our Learning Management System to take the online course. We recommend printing off the seven page user guide and keeping it beside your computer, while you register, for easy reference.

Seminars are held in Columbus and Mansfield. The meeting rooms are equipped for the comfort of people of size. Bottled water is always available and parking is convenient and free. Feel free to bring a support person along with you. Note: The McConnell Heart Health Center is one mile north of Riverside Methodist Hospital campus - this location is not the same as the McConnell Heart Hospital. |

During the 2 to 2 ½ hour free seminar, you will:
- Learn about the three bariatric surgery options at Riverside Methodist Hospital directly from experienced surgeon, Stephan Myers, MD.
- Learn if you could be a candidate for bariatric surgery and if weight loss surgery is right for you.
- Hear stories from our past bariatric patients.
- Meet briefly with our Patient Advocate to start the process of determining your insurance coverage for bariatric surgery
- Receive a free Fresh Start Bariatrics Handbook.
