Chris' Story
“Now, I have trouble sitting still for 8 hours a day.”
Before his bariatric surgery, Chris who had been overweight his entire adult life, would go to work, go home, watch TV and sleep. Now he has trouble sitting still at his job as a 9-1-1 dispatcher for 8 hours a day.
If he’s not out running or participating in marathons, Chris is outside doing yard work or running errands.
“Little things that a lot of people take for granted are so much more for someone like me, for so long it was so hard to do something like mowing my own lawn. Little things like that really mean a lot,” says Chris.
With a family history of heart disease, Chris knew he had to do something about his weight— and then he found Fresh Start Bariatrics.
In addition to their comprehensive care before and after surgery, Chris found Dr. Myers and the Fresh Start Bariatrics staff to be the most valuable asset of all, “They really treat you like you’re a human being and you don’t feel like they’re judging you.”
Chris, so inspired by his surgery and the people he met along the way, formed a local group called the Fresh Start Posse. They meet frequently to just hang out or to exercise together. And one thing is consistent from all Fresh Start Bariatrics surgery patients he meets, “Despite bumps in the road – no matter how big – no one I’ve met regrets the decision.”
