Heather's Story
“Now I feel younger than my age!”
Heather’s tipping point - the moment leading her to bariatric surgery - came when she saw a photo of herself taken at Christmas in 2006.
“I had been in denial,” says Heather.
After losing 84 pounds, Heather says she feels younger than her age, “ I hadn’t realized how much I was missing out on or how much my weight was affecting me.”
Prior to her bariatric surgery and subsequent weight loss, Heather would often send her children to grab things for her around the house. Simple movements like walking up and down stairs were an incredible challenge, but now she is incredibly active.
For Heather, Fresh Start Bariatric’s 12-week post surgery support was critical to her success.
“The Fresh Start Bariatrics program is different because they don’t just leave you to fend for yourself,” says Heather, “and I didn’t just have the surgery and walk away. I’ve been to every support group meeting since.”
