Carolyn's Story
“Now I can play with my grandkids!”
Carolyn, a 64-year-old housewife and grandmother to nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, first considered bariatric surgery when her daughter-in-law suggested the operation.
“She did all of the research for me and recommended Fresh Start Bariatrics and Dr. Myers, so I made the call and I never looked back.”
In just over one year, Carolyn has lost 124 lbs and rather than sleeping in until 10 or 11 a.m. every morning she jumps out of bed early, often before her husband.
“He used to have to wait on me, now I call him a ‘putz’,” she laughs.
On this year’s vacation to Florida, Carolyn took a walk on the beach with her husband, which she described as nothing short of miraculous, “I can’t tell you how much this surgery has changed my life— it’s just hard to explain.”
And as for all of her grandchildren, she can finally join in the fun.
“Now I get down on the floor and play with them. Before, I couldn’t because I had trouble getting back up.”
Her advice to anyone considering bariatric surgery-- “I would recommend, with all my heart, they go through with it. It changes your entire life, mentally and physically.
